The scheme is a great way to introduce students to the many exciting and relevant benefits of studying geography, widening their perception of the subject and encouraging them to pursue it beyond the compulsory stages.
Ambassadors are positive role models for pupils and illustrate – via a range of informative, interactive and enjoyable sessions – the transferable skills and interests they have developed as geographers.
The scheme works closely with schools, universities, as well as organisations, offering the opportunity for all to strengthen their links with each other on a local, regional and national scale. Ambassador visits are arranged through the Ambassadors own engagement with schools and through the project team at the Society.
Ambassadors run sessions on a range of themes, including promoting geography at GCSE, A Level, university and within careers.
