On 7 September 2014, David Lemon (a former policeman turned author and adventurer) became the first man in recorded history to walk from the source of the Zambezi in North West Zambia to its mouth in Mozambique. The journey lasted 292 days and covered 3200 kilometers. On the way he had malaria, malnutrition, scurvy and severe dehydration- losing 34 kilogarms in weight. Travversing through terrain including thick bush, gorges and swamps, David completed his epic journey three weeks short of his 70th birthday.
