The deadline for early bird registration for this year’s Annual International Conference is fast approaching.
We have an exciting and packed programme with over 400 themed sessions taking place over the three days of the conference. Many of this year’s programme highlights embrace the Chair’s theme ‘Geographies of trouble / geographies of hope’, including the Chair’s plenary lectures which feature debates on troubling geography and neuroscience, engaging with the troubles of ecological belonging, and geographies of blackness in the US and UK. As well as the many sessions focusing on both trouble and hope, there are also emerging strands on migration, food, climate, water, wellbeing, decolonising the discipline and race, and the geographies of popular culture. Our Annual International Conference is the largest annual academic geography conference in Europe, with over 1,900 delegates from 60 countries taking part in over 400 sessions. This year’s conference will be held at the Society in London from Tuesday 27 to Friday 30 August.
