AC2022: Geographies beyond recovery

Submissions for sessions, papers and posters for this year’s Annual International Conference are now open. The conference, which will take place at Newcastle University from Tuesday 30 August to Friday 2 September, will have in-person, online and hybrid ways to participate.

Chaired by Professor Rachel Pain of Newcastle University, this year’s theme, Geographies beyond recovery, asks geographers and our research collaborators to critically interrogate the idea and practice of recovery, across scales of life and global contexts, and to explore the geographies that might lie beyond. We welcome submissions that engage directly with this theme, as well as from all areas of the discipline.

We are thinking widely and expansively about sustainability, inclusivity and accessibility in and around the conference and our broader activities with Research Groups and the geographical community. We have guidance for session organisers and for presenters. In particular we encourage you to consider the kinds of spaces and conversations you want to curate, and how to best engage attendees in person and online.

The deadline for submission is Friday 25 March.
