The Society has launched a new scheme for the accreditation of undergraduate geography programmes in the UK. The first application deadline is 30 September 2016.
Accreditation is one of the ways that universities can provide students and employers with an assurance that the knowledge, skills and other attributes expected of high quality geography graduates, recorded in the QAA Subject Benchmark Statement for Geography, are being delivered.
Through its accreditation scheme, the Society aims to recognise academic excellence in geographical learning and teaching, and support the continuous improvement of UK geography degree programmes, which will in turn support the international standing of UK higher education geography as a rigorous and applied subject.
