Applications for our Geography Teacher Training Scholarships for those planning to start their teacher training course in September 2020 are now open.
Supported by the Department for Education, our scholarships give outstanding trainees significant financial and professional support. Successful applicants receive an enhanced training bursary of £17,000 tax-free funding and a range of other benefits including training events, access to materials and resources, Fellowship of the Society and also membership of the Geographical Association during their training year.
Dr Mark Allan, Scholar in 2017-18, said: ‘The scholarship programme was brilliant, and offered a number of fantastic opportunities over the course of my training and into my NQT year. From the outset, being introduced to the other Scholars meant that we had a support network in which we could share experiences, resources and ideas as we all progressed. The CPD opportunities allowed me to better myself as a teacher and gain valuable insights into the teaching profession.’
