Are you a primary geography or history teacher? Why not join us for one of our upcoming primary geography and history CPD events?
In our Primary Geography and History Teachmeet, primary teachers will be sharing their ideas and innovation in teaching both geography and history at the primary level. Teachmeets are a great way to find out what fellow teachers are doing in the classroom, as well as being an ideal opportunity to expand your network and take away a range of new ideas, resources and experiences. Topics to be covered during the event include embedding map work into the curriculum, an example of a multi-schools event resulting in a South American adventure, and using texts to link Geography and English.
We are also running Geography and History – together stronger, but separate…?, a participatory course that supports you in planning primary history and geography in ways that strengthen links between the subjects and amplify learning. The course will be a chance to enhance your subject knowledge and explore the potential of meaningful cross-subject planning using practical examples taken from the UK's Little Ice Age, Egypt and the Nile, the Viking world, the Maya (past and present) and the Stone Age to Iron Age.
