Discovering Britain is the Society website that helps people delve into the stories behind the UK’s varied landscapes. The 200+ immersive, self-led walking routes encourage deeper engagement with Britain’s rich and diverse geography.
The Discovering Britain routes in the South West of England are now available to download and follow in ViewRanger, a free GPS navigation app used by millions of people around the world to plan, navigate, record, and share their outdoor adventures.
Caroline Millar, Discovering Britain Project Manager, said: “If you want to exercise your brain as well as your feet, then our routes are for you. From the buzz of a short city trail to a full day out in Britain’s wild places, our story-led routes are now easier to follow than ever.”
There are 23 routes available in the app, complete with turn-by-turn directions, facts, photographs and audio files. The other Discovering Britain routes from throughout the rest of the UK will be published on ViewRanger over the coming months.
