Are you looking for advice on planning geographical field research or an expedition? The Society’s annual fieldwork and expedition planning seminar, Explore, takes place over the weekend of 18-20 November.
Explore is the key event in the calendar of every expeditioner and field scientist. Bringing together over 90 leading field scientists and explorers, the weekend provides advice and inspiration through TED-style talks, workshops and demonstrations.
Now in its 40th year, Explore offers an opportunity to exchange experiences, make contacts and gain practical advice for future projects. It is the starting point for hundreds of expeditions each year, and everyone is welcome – regardless of age or experience.
Highlights of the weekend include:
- Specialist workshops on field research skills, working in remote environments, and communicating discoveries through writing, photography, film and art.
- Opportunities to meet and share ideas with others.
- Specialists on hand to share tips on fundraising, social media, mapping technologies and keeping safe.
Explore will take place at the Society’s headquarters in London. Tickets cost from £55 for one day, £65 for the weekend.
