External examining in geography

The Society has published a series of key resources for current and prospective external examiners in geography.

External examiners play a crucial role in maintaining academic standards and supporting high quality teaching and learning in UK higher education. They provide impartial and independent advice, ensuring that policies and procedures are followed, and make recommendations for development. 

The Society’s new resources for external examiners include geography-specific reflections and literature, as well as sector-wide guidance and policies. Those interested in finding external examiner roles are also encouraged to sign up to the ‘Geography External Examiners’ mailing list.
