Last month’s Geographical journeys: microlectures event brought together a diverse group of speakers for an evening of inspirational stories about travel with a purpose. Videos of their microlectures are now available online.
Each year, the Society’s Younger Members’ Committee organises Geographical journeys: microlectures, an informal evening of short, illustrated talks that aim to inspire, entertain and engage the audience with the world’s peoples, places and environments.
The event provides an opportunity for the next generation of speakers to discuss a recent journey with a purpose.
The 2016 Microlectures event took place in March and was hosted by anthropologist and broadcaster Mary-Ann Ochota FRGS. Mary-Ann and nine speakers took the audience through seven diverse tales of travel and discovery.
