Geography graduate earnings in the spotlight

A recent report, published by the Department for Education and the Institute for Fiscal Studies, provides new insights into what geography students are likely to earn after leaving university.

The report gives a positive outlook for geography graduates, with the subject securing a place in the top 10 subjects for real earnings for 29-year-olds. It also highlights the positive effect of a geography degree on earnings for students of all backgrounds (including ethnicity, class and attainment at school), relative to peers without a degree.

The findings also showcase how studying geography is good preparation for employment in a diverse range of jobs.

The full report is available from the Department for Education and incorporates 1,200 courses at universities across the UK in its analysis.
