As part of our celebration of this year’s medals and awards recipients, we caught up with Dr James Esson, recipient of the Taylor and Francis Award for his contributions to teaching and learning in higher education, in our most recent Geography now podcast.
James is Senior Lecturer in Human Geography at Loughborough University and Head of the RGS-IBG RACE Working Group’s Teaching and Learning subcommittee. In the podcast, he discusses his feelings on receiving the Taylor and Francis Award, how an article led him to his research on irregular migration of West African males to Europe through football related human trafficking, and issues of race within British geography.
