Jan Morris was one of the world's most established writers, covering journalistic, historical and geographical subjects. In a glittering career, Morris wrote over 40 books, including notable historical works (e.g. The Pax Britannica Trilogy), several novels, and many beloved travel guides.
She travelled with the British army in the Second World War, and was embedded in the 1953 Everest Expedition, being the first to break the news of Hillary and Tenzing's ascent.
