Our Research Groups bring together active researchers around a particular aspect of geography. There are 31 Research Groups addressing a range of subjects and issues, so there’s almost certainly a group that reflects your interests. You can join as many Research Groups as you like.
The Research Groups are holding their AGMs over a period of three weeks from Monday 22 August, with many taking place during the Society’s Annual International Conference from Tuesday 30 August to Friday 2 September. Attending an AGM is a great way to find out more about the work of a particular Research Group, their recent activities, and their plans. Many groups will also be holding elections for vacant roles on their committees.
Research Groups organise a wide range of events and activities. These include seminars, workshops, writing retreats, undergraduate dissertation prizes, newsletters and more. Some Research Groups also provide funding to support events and research. You can find more information on the different groups and about upcoming events and activities on our website.
Joining a group now will ensure you are eligible to vote and stand for a committee, which can be a fantastic way to meet and network with colleagues in your sub-discipline.
