Professor Michael Bradford was head of the geography department at the University of Manchester and an inspiring teacher. He promoted the teaching of geography on a wide scale, and was President of the Geographical Association.
Professor Michael Bradford was commended with the Society's Taylor & Francis Award in 2008 for excellence in teaching and learning in higher education. His outstanding abilities as a teacher were recognised throughout the world of geography, and across his illustrious and far-reaching career. He had been a member of the Society since 1994.
