Every year we support the Society’s 31 Research and Working Groups through the Research Groups grants scheme, and we are delighted to be supporting the following activities over the coming year.

• The Climate Change Research Group workshop on communication for climate change researchers, to be held at the Society on Wednesday 15 January 2020.

• The Development Geographies Research Group workshop for postgraduates on extended fieldwork abroad.

• The Digital Geographies Research Group symposium on ‘Using the Digital' to be held at the University of Exeter in summer 2020. 

• The Food Geographies Working Group workshops on ‘Dialogues on Food Geographies: Through the Politics of Diversity, Difference and Decolonisation’.

• The Gender and Feminist Geographies Research Group workshop on mentoring best practice.

• The Geographies of Children, Youth and Families Research Group writing retreat in July 2020.

• The Geographies of Health and Wellbeing Research Group hackday workshop and mentoring event.

• The Geographies of Justice Research Group participatory workshop in 2020.

• The Geography and Education Research Group conference and writing workshop on 16-17 December 2019.

• The Historical Geography Research Group’s annual ‘Practising Historical Geographies’ postgraduate event, to take place in November 2020.

• The Participatory Geographies Research Group’s annual reading weekend in June 2020.

• The Population Geography Research Group project on their archives and a writing retreat for population geographers.

• The Space, Sexualities and Queer Research Group workshop for postgraduates.
