The Society’s grants programme provides funding for geographical research, fieldwork and teaching. The application deadlines for several grants are fast approaching.
Through its grants programme, the Society works to advance geographical science and understanding. Each year, more than 70 grants are awarded in support of geographical research, fieldwork, and teaching, both in the UK and overseas.

Dr Ingrid A. Medby has received this year’s Area prize for her paper, Political geography and language: A reappraisal for a diverse discipline, published in our academic journal Area.

Our publications provide a high-quality outlet for the dissemination of research, and sharing of skills across the breadth of the discipline.
Our response to this Ofqual consultation calls for the reinstatement of fieldwork, with appropriate accommodations being made, for GCSE, AS and A Level geography over the 2021-22 cycle.
