The Lapita Voyage was the experimental sailing proof of the Polynesian migrations out of South East Asia. The film starts with a clear introduction by James Wharram to his research into canoe craft and his pioneering catamaran voyages, followed by an account by Hanneke Boon of the actual voyage.
