The Society is delighted to support a number of Research and Working Group activities over the coming year.
The Society’s Research and Working Groups are networks of active researchers and those with a professional interest in a particular aspect of geography and related disciplines. Each of the 31 groups supports and promotes their sub-discipline of geography through activities including running events, proposing sessions for the Annual International Conference, offering grants and dissertation awards, sharing information, publishing books, journals and blogs, and supporting the network of scholars across the world with an interest in their branch of geography.
Each year the Society supports its Research and Working Groups through the Research Groups grants scheme. We are delighted to support the following projects and events over 2017-2018:
The Carceral Geography Working Group, to support their third flagship conference on ‘The Carceral Conundrum: Ethics, Positionality and the Impact of Carceral Research’, to be held in Liverpool in December 2018.
