This activity investigates whether Milton Keynes is a sustainable community. It is a virtual fieldtrip that can be easily adapted to be applied to a range of towns and cities. The sustainability of our shopping habits is a topic that is frequently covered in the media. This local area study investigates the extent to which shops, supermarkets and consumers are taking steps to decrease their environmental impact. The environmental impact of a major sporting event
This investigation studies the environmental impact of the Wimbledon Tennis Championships in terms of factors such as noise, litter and traffic/pedestrian congestion in the area of Southfields. This resource focuses on the use of GIS (ESRI ArcGIS) software to record, analyse and present the findings of the study, but materials for the actual fieldwork process are also included. GCSE.
