Join our Author meets critics session with author of Home SOS, Professor Katherine Brickell of Royal Holloway, University of London.
The book shines a spotlight on domestic violence and eviction in Cambodia. Drawing on over 15 years of fieldwork and more than 300 interviews, Home SOS highlights the experiences of intimate violence and survival as told by Cambodian women.
This panel discussion, chaired by Dr Chih Yuan Woon of the National University of Singapore, brings together geographers including Professor Katherine Brickell, Mr Kevin Doyle from Dublin City University, Dr Sarah Marie Hall from the University of Manchester, and Dr Michele Lancione from the University of Sheffield. The discussion will explore Katherine’s conceptions of home, violence, and the crisis ordinary, the book’s arguments in understanding the links between the economy and violence in and beyond contemporary Cambodia, and its broader contributions to debates within economic, social, cultural and feminist geographies.
Author meets critics: Home SOS will take place at 2.00pm on Friday 23 October. Find out more and register now.
