Today marks International Women's Day, which celebrates the achievements of women around the world and calls for the acceleration of women’s equality.
The Chair of the Society’s 2023 Annual International Conference, Professor Harriet Bulkeley from Durham University, has selected Climate changed geographies as the conference theme, aiming to discuss the ways in which geography has shaped, and been shaped by, issues related to our changing climate. To correspond with this theme, this International Women’s Day, we are celebrating the contributions of women working in climate science.
Women scholars who have recently published papers in the Society’s journals are among those highlighted, including those included in our recent Climate changed geographies virtual issue, which features papers that speak to the conference theme. We will also recognise the work of our conference Chair and the Chair of the RGS-IBG Climate Change Research Group.
