Throughout June we encouraged geography professionals to take a look at their continuing professional development (CPD). CPD is a structured and purposeful way to maintain and improve your knowledge, skills and professional qualities.
Earlier in #CPDmonth we held a webinar introducing the main ideas of CPD, and our panel of professional geographers – Keely Mills, Andrew Murdock CGeog and Liz-Fox Tucker CGeog – shared their insights on planning and reflecting on CPD for geographers. Watch the discussion again here.
Look for the learning. There’s learning in everything that we do and every interaction. CPD doesn’t have to be a formal qualification…it’s easy to overlook.” – Keely Mills, BGS
We also shared a range of CPD resources which you can browse for advice on identifying your CPD needs, planning your CPD and reflecting on your development.
If you’ve been inspired to work on your CPD, you can also download our CPD template and use it to develop your CPD record. This can be helpful for demonstrating your professionalism and development, applying for CGeog status, or reflecting on gaps and development opportunities.
