Dr Katie Hall – GIS Education Consultant
Katie works at Esri UK where she develops new resources for schools and universities, devising innovative ways to apply GIS to school curriculum content. Not only does she develop training courses for teachers and students to help them use Esri technology, she also acts as a first line of technical support for users of the platform in schools, who get in contact to ask questions about what they can do with GIS.
Andrew Fielding – Flood risk and GIS Analyst
Andrew works at JBA Consulting, an environmental, engineering and risk group, based in Warrington. He has worked on a number of projects ranging from small scale flood risk assessments and research projects to multi-million-pound, national scale work. Recently he’s been heavily involved with a research project into the applications of Natural Flood Management and the benefits it provides to ecosystem services.

Dr Nick Bearman
Terri Freemantle – Senior Earth Observations Specialist
Terri works at the Satellite Applications Catapult, based in Oxfordshire. She oversees a number of projects, undertaking work in Earth Observation, remote sensing and GIS. This includes handling and processing optical and radar satellite data, using image analysis software and computer programming. Her work focuses on the application of space data and technology to geographical problems, such as climate change resilience, disaster risk reduction, managing food security and monitoring infrastructure.
Dr Nick Bearman – GIS Trainer and Teaching Fellow in Geospatial Analysis
Nick splits his time between two roles, working for University College London, teaching on their MSc Geospatial Analysis course, and working for Geospatial Training Solutions, where he runs training courses, prepares material, and promotes and arranges future courses.
