Have your say on a new approach to regulating student outcomes

The Office for Students (OfS) has launched a consultation on three new sets of proposals for the regulation of quality and standards in higher education in England. The Society intends to respond to the consultation and welcomes any comments or other input from the geography subject community to inform our response.

The first proposal focuses on student outcomes and sets minimum requirements for the outcomes that universities and colleges deliver. The second involves the creation of a new Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF), in which universities are given a rating, incentivising the delivery of high-quality teaching and learning. The third proposal addresses the way in which the OfS collects and interprets data on graduate outcomes, which would then be used as part of the TEF.
