We are delighted to announce the appointment of four new co-editors for two of the Society’s academic journals.
Professor Colin McFarlane from Durham University, Dr Pat Noxolo from the University of Birmingham, and Professor Matthew Sparke from the University of California, Santa Cruz, will join Professor Robyn Dowling of the University of Sydney, Professor Jo Little from the University of Exeter, and Dr Simon Naylor from the University of Glasgow as co-editors of Transactions of the Institute of British Geographers. Professor Adrian Bailey from Hong Kong Baptist University has concluded his term as co-editor of this journal.
For Area, Dr Hilary Geoghegan from the University of Reading has been appointed as co-editor. She will join Professor Peter Kraftl from the University of Birmingham and Dr Robert Bryant from the University of Sheffield, as Professor Kavita Datta from Queen Mary University of London has completed her term of office.
The Society would like to thank our outgoing editors Professors Bailey and Datta for all of their intellectual direction and contributions they have dedicated to our journals and we welcome our four new editors.
Our academic journals are internationally recognised and provide an outlet, and support, for the dissemination of high quality research across the breadth of geography. We are looking forward to working with each of the editorial teams to help them realise their goals and continue to diversify the range of voices and areas of the discipline that are represented in the journals.
