In May 2022, the publisher of the Society’s academic journals, Wiley, became a signatory of the Declaration on Research Assessment (DORA). DORA is a worldwide initiative designed to improve the ways in which the outputs of scholarly research are evaluated. This is achieved by moving away from single-journal metrics and instead providing a selection of metrics that better enable readers and authors to gain deeper insights into the impact of their papers.
As part of this, Wiley have recently added new metrics pages to each of the Society’s journals, which make a broader range of journal and article metrics publicly available. We view this as a positive step towards creating a more open research culture around our journals and in geography more widely.
The new metrics pages can be found on the Wiley Online Library pages for each of the journals.
