A new exhibition, Picturing the invisible, is now available for Fellows and members to view in the Director’s Gallery.

Curated by Dr Makoto Takahashi, Picturing the invisible, seeks to provide a vivid depiction of the social and political realities of life in the wake of ‘3.11’, the Great East Japan earthquake, tsunami and Fukushima Daiichi disaster. The seismic event, which claimed 16,000 lives, moved the Earth 10 centimetres on its axis, and a decade on the effects are still evident today.

The exhibition brings together seven talented photographers, working in the affected territories, each bringing a different perspective to the theme, touching on radiation, lingering traumas, and the resilience of those communities rebuilding their lives.

Picturing the invisible is available in the Director’s Gallery for Fellows and members to view Monday to Friday 10.00am till 5.00pm until Thursday 23 December.
