Fifteen more professional geographers have been officially awarded Chartered Geographer status by the Society’s Council in recognition of their use of geographical skills, knowledge, and understanding in the workplace.
The number of Chartered Geographers now stands at nearly 700. Those most recently accredited include employees of Atkins, Jacobs, WSP-PB and the Ministry of Defence, and they are based in locations from Glasgow to Sydney, showing CGeog is the leading accreditation for geographers worldwide.
Achieving chartered status through the Chartered Geographer scheme unlocks a number of benefits for professionals using geographical knowledge, understanding, and skills in the workplace. These include gaining recognition for their expertise, and access to professional development and networking opportunities.
The next networking event for current Chartered Geographers and those interested in finding out more about professional accreditation is on Wednesday 24 May at the Society. All professional geographers are welcome to attend the evening which will include update sessions, the chance to view the latest exhibition in the Society’s Pavilion, and opportunities for one-on-one application guidance.
