The image selected to feature on our 2023 membership card is Daniel Franc’s Surfing the Spring, which celebrates vast green expanses in the South Moravian region of the Czech Republic. Based in Prague, the photographer said of the image:
“The rolling hills of the agricultural counties in South Moravia (sometimes called Czech Tuscany) promise an endless stream of surprises from every angle. These vistas are not always a sign of a good agriculture, though – many natural forests were cut to make space for fields.”
Taken between Bílovice and Čejkovice in early spring, the photograph won the Place category in the 2022 Earth Photo competition.
Daniel Franc is an internationally recognised aerial photographer creating fine art photography using his drone to find beauty, energy and new views on the world.
Fellows and Members will receive this new card when they join the Society or renew their membership in 2023.
