Join our Author meets critics session with author of The Unsettling Outdoors: Environmental Estrangement in Everyday Life, Professor Russell Hitchings of University College London.
The book looks at the potential benefits of greenspace and how this can be fully realised in our contemporary worlds, by looking at the ways in which people actually engage with the ‘outdoors’ and ‘outdoor activities’ in their everyday lives.
This panel discussion, chaired by Dr Chih Yuan Woon of the National University of Singapore, brings together geographers including Professor Russell Hitchings, Professor Gordon Walker from Lancaster Environment Centre, Dr David Bissell from University of Melbourne, and Dr Cecily Maller from RMIT University. The discussion will explore The Unsettlling Outdoors from multiple angles and suggest where its contributions might lead future scholarship in cultural and environmental geography.
Author meets critics: The Unsettling Outdoors will take place at 10.00am on 25 February.
