This Thursday, the Society is hosting Better Mapping Wales in association with the British Cartographic Society and AGI Cymru. The day of seminars in Cardiff is aimed at professional geographers who want to improve their mapping skills, no matter what sector they work in.
The day will cover a range of topics and techniques on good cartographic practice, including sessions on local mapping projects in Wales, maps as a service and the importance of good mapping practice. There will also be the opportunity to develop the techniques and knowledge needed to create good maps, including design principles, thematic mapping and designing for the web.
Better Mapping Wales is part of the Society’s strategy to provide an enhanced programme of support, training and accreditation for practising geographers across the UK.
The event on 28 June is now fully booked, but Better Mapping London will be taking place at the Society in September.
