Join us during London Climate Action Week for an evening of discussion around the role visual images play in shaping our perceptions of climate change.
Climate change through the lens is a panel discussion exploring the role of visual media in shaping our future, taking place at the Society and livestreamed online on Thursday 30 June at 7.00pm.
Our discussion is chaired by Martine Croxall, presenter with the BBC News Channel, with speakers including:
- Marissa Roth, Chair of the Society's Earth Photo Jury Committee. Marissa is an internationally published documentary and fine art photographer, and freelance photojournalist.
- Dr Saffron O’Neill, Associate Professor in Geography at the University of Exeter, whose research explores the social science dimensions of climate variability and climate change.
- Alastair Johnstone, Climate Visuals Advisor at Climate Outreach and previously Deputy News Picture Editor at The Times and The Sunday Times, working on visual coverage of global and domestic stories.
There is the opportunity before the event to take a closer look at entries from the Earth Photo exhibition in the Society’s Pavilion, which is also open 10.00am-5.00pm, Monday to Friday until 26 August.
