As part of the Migrants on the margins field research project, SOAS University of London in collaboration with the Society have awarded a scholarship to Masters student Nouradin Nour. Under the supervision of Dr Laura Hammond, the project’s research lead for Hargiesa, Nouradin will pursue an MSc in Research for International Development and will complete a dissertation related to issues of urbanisation in Somaliland.
Nouradin has a strong academic and professional research background. He holds a BA degree in Developmental Studies from Admas University, an Ethiopian institution with a satellite campus in Somaliland, and has experience of working as a Monitoring and Evaluations Officer with the National Health Professionals Commission, Somaliland. He has previously worked with the Observatory of Conflict and Violence Prevention at the University of Hargeisa, one of the project’s partner organisations.
Nouradin will begin his studies in September 2018 and will be in London for the duration of the academic year.
