The Society’s autumn programme of events is now available online and offers a wide range of talks, discussions, and exhibitions at venues across the UK.
Highlights from the events taking place in London include a series marking the digitisation of the Society’s moving film archive, while the Monday night lecture series includes talks by Evan Davis, Bettany Hughes, and Bruce Parry.
The Society’s two touring exhibitions are on show this autumn with Britain from the Air opening in Liverpool on 8 August and Shackleton’s Endurance on display at the National Library of Scotland in Edinburgh until 12 November.
Explore - the annual fieldwork and expedition planning weekend - takes place as usual in London this November, but this year there is also Explore North West – a one-day seminar in Ambleside with a focus on self-led student projects.
Many of the events in our busy and varied programme are open to everyone, but some – including Monday night lectures and talks in the City lecture series – are members’ events. Now is the perfect time to join the Society and make the most of what’s on offer this autumn.
Members of the Society can also watch high quality recordings of Monday night lectures online, making them available to those unable to attend the lectures in person.
