Eleanor Drinkwater is an entomologist, science communicator and experienced fieldworker, who recently undertook fieldwork to research the incredibly valued Titan beetle. In this podcast, Eleanor discusses this expedition, and touches on what she and her team learnt about the ellusive species, how she succesfully communicated her findings, and what advice she has for those looking to conduct geographical fieldwork, as well as her experience of the Society's annual expedition and field research seminar, Explore.
Eleanor would have spoken at an event organised by regional volunteers which was cancelled due to lockdown restrictions. For more information on how you can get involved with the events and regional committees near you, please visit our Regional committess page.
About Geography now podcasts
Geography now is a new podcast series from the Royal Geographical Society (with IBG). In this series, we’ll be talking to geographers about the work that they’re doing, topics they’re passionate about, and opinions they have about the world around us.
At a time when it is impossible to host speakers at the Society, we are committed to creating content that can be accessed online, and are excited to feature individuals who would have spoken at our events around the UK.
