The RGS-IBG Expedition Handbook has long been the primary source of information for all aspects of planning an expedition, from inception to the final report.
This information is taken from:
RGS Expedition Handbook Shane Winser (ed.) Profile Books 2004. 502pp. ISBN I 86197 0447.
Important note: This book was published in 2004 so some of the information may have changed.
The three chapters in this section suggest a variety of ways to finance your chosen projects - budgeting and techniques for financial management, approaching grant-giving organisations and commercial companies for money and sponsorship. Charity fundraising expeditions which try to raise money for worthy causes are now a regular occurrence and advice on these is also given.
