Research Group grants awarded

Every year we support the Society’s 31 Research and Working Groups through the Research Groups grants scheme. We are delighted to be supporting the following activities over the coming year:

• The Carceral Geographies Working Group for early career bursaries to attend the 5th International Conference for Carceral Geography.

• The Climate Change Research Group for a sub-disciplinary mapping workshop leading to a planned co-authored publication.

• The Digital Geographies Research Group (DGRG) for travel bursaries for postgraduate and unwaged researchers to the DGRG 2023 symposium.

• The Food Geographies Research Group for a writing workshop.

• The Geographical Information Science Research Group and Quantitative Methods Research Group for bursaries for early-career researchers and underrepresented scholars, particularly from the global south, to attend the International Conference on Geographic Information Science 2023.

• The Geographies of Children, Youth and Families Research Group for a writing retreat.

• The Geographies of Health and Wellbeing Research Group to support their hackday event.

• The Latin American Geographies Working Group for an away weekend.

• The Participatory Geographies Research Group for an away weekend.

• The Political Geography Research Group for early bursaries for their biennial conference.

• The Rural Geography Research Group to support early career attendance at conferences.

• The Space, Sexualities and Queer Research Group to support a reading retreat.
