Our Geography Ambassador scheme recruits, trains and supports undergraduate, postgraduate and professional geographers from universities and businesses to act as ambassadors for geography in the classroom and beyond.
Geography Ambassadors have the opportunity to develop informative and enjoyable sessions for pupils, strengthen their presenting skills, and develop networks with schools and others within geography higher education. So, if you're an undergraduate, postgraduate or recent graduate with a passion for geography and enthusiasm for inspiring others, apply now to join one of the training sessions below and become a Geography Ambassador.
Feedback from students who have attended previous Geography Ambassador training sessions includes:
“The group interactive activities were fun and useful allowing us to think about how we would plan a session. It was beneficial to collaborate with other students. The 'what word would describe your geography journey?' activity at the start was refreshing (the whole session was so much more enjoyable than my usual lectures!).”
“The different school scenarios that were given were useful, helped me think about how I would handle a certain situation or structure a session.”
“I really enjoyed the interactive tasks that were given to us during the session. It was not only enjoyable but was useful as it helped us prepare for when we have to think of tasks for when we actually go to the schools.”
